The DGN-Kongress in Berlin was the venue for this year’s annual meeting of the German Neurological Society from November 8 to 11, 2023. Launching its presence in Germany, Adamant Health participated for the first time as an advanced technology provider with a booth to promote our concept for accurate and detailed symptom measurement.

Movement disorders can be especially difficult to diagnose, treat, and understand. In the next 30 years, there will be a strong increase in the number of people affected by movement disorders and that is why we are promoting #MoveDisorder awareness.

Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease without any curative treatment or neuroprotective or disease-halting drugs. It is characterized by motor symptoms that are still quantified mostly by subjective methods. Studies have shown that combining surface electromyography (EMG) and kinematic measurements can lead to objective quantification of a patient’s neuromuscular and motor function.

A new study on wearable monitoring of negative myoclonus within the home environment is now available. The research was conducted in collaboration between the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio University Hospital (KUH) - Kuopion yliopistollinen sairaala (KYS), UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and Adamant Health.

We’ve just returned from this year’s International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Copenhagen and are strongly encouraged by the valuable and in-depth discussions we had there.
