The Adamant Health symptom report – accurate insight into a Parkinson’s patient's condition
A detailed overview of the patient’s symptoms to support personalized treatment and optimal symptom control.
Adamant Health’s unique CE-marked data-analysis technology, based on surface electromyography (EMG) and kinematic measurements, provides detailed and accurate symptom data – essential for supporting personalized treatment that can be continuously optimized.
Our service uses a small, wearable device to continuously measure both neuromuscular signals and motor symptoms. For the measurement period, the symptom data are presented in an easy-to-read report.
The symptom report includes
a graphic visualization of the variation in the patient’s motor symptoms,
an overview of the detected symptoms and medication side effects, including their timing,
the patient's prescribed Parkinson's medication, including the medication schedule,
a summary of the patient-reported symptoms, and
information about the patient’s overall well-being.
An accurate picture of the variation in the patient’s motor symptoms
The core of the Adamant Health symptom report builds the neuromuscular index, which presents a graphic visualization of the variation in the patient’s motor symptoms, complemented by the observations from our symptom analysis.
The neuromuscular index is calculated from Parkinson’s disease-specific signal parameters of the measured EMG and kinematic data using Adamant Health's clinically validated CE-marked medical device algorithm. It presents the amount of movement associated with unusual muscle activity in the patient during the measurement.
The graph includes a separate line for each measurement day and one line showing the average across all measurement days, highlighting trends in the patient's unusual muscle activity.
Objectively measured Parkinson’s symptoms and medication side effects
With the Adamant Health measurement and analysis service, we can detect and quantify Parkinson’s-related motor symptoms, such as tremor, rigidity and bradykinesia, and medication side effects.
The symptoms and dyskinesia are presented in a bar graph, allowing to quickly get an overview of the patient's symptoms and medication side effects at the time of measurement.
Information on the patient’s Parkinson's medication
The symptom report lists the patient’s Parkinson’s medication, along with the medication schedule. It also shows the patient-reported medication intake times, indicating the patient’s adherence to the medication plan. The patient reports medication intake times through the patient diary.
Overview of patient-reported Parkinson’s symptoms
During the measurement, the patient is asked to keep a symptom diary. In the symptom report, all patient-reported symptoms are presented for each day of measurement, including the exact timing of each symptom and its strength or impact on the patient’s daily life. The patient-reported symptoms are presented in a heat map.
Information on the patient’s well-being
The symptom report also provides information about the patient's overall well-being on the measurement days. The patient reports their overall well-being in the patient diary.
The Adamant Health symptom report provides accurate insight into the patient’s overall condition and gives clear visibility into the patient’s motor symptoms. It is a valuable tool for more effective communication with patients and caretakers and supports the development of a highly personalized treatment plan. Regular measurements allow to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment and provide information for the optimization of the treatment plan for best possible symptom control.
