Enhancing Parkinson’s care: Introducing next-generation measurement device, streamlined user experience, and a new patient diary application

We have been working with our supplier to enhance the measurement device for the Adamant Health measurement and analysis service and have been developing our software application to make our service even easier to use for healthcare professionals and the measurement device more comfortable to wear for patients with Parkinson's disease.

Next-generation measurement device for accurate symptom assessment

The measurement device provided as part of the service comprises a compact sensor (CE-marked medical device), an electrode patch, and an adapter.

The battery life of the small and lightweight sensor has been significantly improved and now enables measurement over several days without recharging. Furthermore, the new sensor is waterproof (IP67). Thus, the sensor does not need to be removed during the measurement, for example, for charging or personal care.

We are currently working to introduce a one-piece electrode patch for premium comfort during the measurement. The new electrode patch will eliminate cables, making it easy for healthcare professionals to install the equipment and more comfortable to wear for the patient. The new electrode patch will be available later in 2025.

The measurement device is provided in a self-sustaining case for easy handling, storage, and shipping if the measurement is carried out within the patient’s home environment.

One single application for a seamless use of our service

The user-friendly Adamant Health clinic application guides the healthcare professional through the measurement process, provides a personalized diary for each patient, and delivers the symptom report for the treating clinician.

To make our service even easier for healthcare professionals to use, we have optimized the user interface to be more intuitive and optimized workflows to make the application more effective and quicker to use.

Based on customer feedback, the required data input has been reduced to minimize administrative effort.

Easy-to-use patient diary specifically developed for people with Parkinson's disease

In addition, we have released a new patient diary, particularly developed for people with Parkinson’s disease. The diary offers an easy and secure way to collect accurate information on the patient's medication intakes, symptoms, and well-being for clinical use.

The patient diary is fully integrated with the Adamant Health service, making it easy to take into use with minimal administrative effort and a high level of data privacy and security.

The information for accessing each patient's personalized diary is retrieved directly from the clinic application used by the healthcare professional and handed to the patient when the patient visits the clinic to start the measurement. The patient does not need to install any software to use the diary. After the measurement, the information is automatically transferred to the symptom report, allowing a comparison of the patient-reported symptoms with the objectively measured symptom data.
